specific requirements for logistics and production. Both packages are meant to
be used for strategic
as well as for operative staff planning and feature several analysis options. The packages support following industry specific
characteristics:
Production planning: Whereas staff planning with ORion-PI®Workforce@Logistics supports logistic
planning workflows and decision processes on individual storage layouts
and underlying MTM time components, the planning basis for ORion-PI®Workforce@Production covers
production oriented process structures such as facilities, critical resources,
batch production etc. This way,
typical issues of planning in manufacturing - like planning of campaigns -
are linked to the forward planning of shift scenarios and staff capacities.
Dynamics: Staff planning likewise has do be done very often. In logistics and
production for example order volumes vary possibly from day to day and
staff planning is done flexibly based on these orders. Even long in
advance planned orders can be the basis for shift and staff planning, too.
Workflows: Resulting from production planning and dynamics there are different
workflows. Due to the sometimes extremely high dynamics in logistics and
production, operative tasks can be supported very well. For instance staff
rescheduling and daily changes of working times can be aligned with
flextime accounts. There are special features for the optimal deployment
of staff qualifications and their control in each shift model.
