Returned Goods Management
An efficient and customer oriented returned goods
management is challenging and at the same time an essential factor of
success for companies. The main goal is the cost efficient handling of incoming
returned goods and their preferably direct
and smooth integration in the existing picking process. In many
distribution centers there are still large optimization potentials – even when
the returned goods management is supposed to be organized and goods are directly
integrated. With ORion-PI® the
optimization potentials can be revealed and realized with the approach of the
returned goods
forecast.
With an algorithmic elaborated optimization method
ORion-PI® defines exactly these returned goods, which are most likely
to be ordered at the following day again. Forecasted returned goods will be kept in
an optimal amount for the next
day, temporarily stored in a
special established picking area where they got directly removed from
the next day. In this way significant savings can be achieved like for redundant
storage processes for all returned goods which are directly picked again.
High
removal quotes: Based on experience much more returned goods can be matched to new
orders!
