Optimal Freight Rate at the Click of a MouseAxxom presents new solution for freight rate optimization at LogiMAT 2010Munich, February 18, 2010 – Axxom Software AG presents its new software ORion-PI® Freight Rate Optimization from 2nd till 4th of March at the trade fair LogiMAT in Stuttgart. The solution helps to find the most cost-efficient provider and freight rate for road, air and sea transports as well as for parcel delivery. Thus, a double-digit reduction of transport costs is possible. In addition, Axxom presents new functionalities of its software ORion-PI® Staff Planning & Scheduling. Transport costs amount to 75 percent or more of total logistics costs. Here, huge saving potentials often exist especially in transport expenditures. By choosing the right freight rate at the forwarding company a significant, short-term and sustainable reduction of transport costs can be achieved. The choice of the right freight rate and the right transport provider, however, is not an easy one. Huge amounts of data (e.g. shipping data ) and various, often very complex structures of cargo rates make it nearly impossible to compare different offers. Therefore, Axxom has developed ORion-PI® Freight Rate Optimization. The solution allows to compare different freight rates and to select the most cost-efficient service providers and offers for parcel, express and general cargo – also sectioned into different regions, customers and products. At the same time unexpected future changes in quantity or structure of the shippings can also be considered and simulated. This way the software identifies not only the most cost-efficient freight rate for expected deliveries, but also determines freight rates which are optimal if unexpected changes occur. An integrated optimization functionality also automatically identifies the most beneficial provider or the most beneficial combination of providers, respectively. In addition to the new freight rate optimization software, Axxom also presents a new interactive assistant for staff planning, scheduling and re-scheduling. The new tool is integrated into the software ORion-PI® Staff Planning & Scheduling and supports the staff planner in identifying bottlenecks and conducting optimal counteractive measures. In a clear, intuitive graphical user interface scheduling as well as visual capacity checks can be carried out. An integrated staff proposal list for staff rescheduling allows an easy interactive shifting of, for example, part time employees or relief persons to different facilities or processes via drag & drop. The according workload changes are updated immediately and transparency in staff scheduling is increased significantly |
