04.12.07 - Forecasted replenishmentFulfillment services provider Sigloch optimizes replenishment processes in distribution center BlaufeldenMunich, December 4th 2007 – Since August 2007 Sigloch Distribution in Blaufelden/Germany banks on an optimization software of Munich based Axxom Software AG to improve its internal replenishment processes. ORion-PI® Replenishment Optimization optimizes the flow of materials between high rack warehouse and picking section and thus allows the foresighted planning of replenishment quantities. Since the introduction the distribution center in Blaufelden reports on a load relieving of daily replenishment and a significant increase in productivity. Johannes Braun, technical director and authorized representative of Sigloch Distribution, is very impressed by the first results since the software’s implementation: „With ORion-PI® we have entered a new era of replenishment management. The optimal design of our replenishment processes has strengthened our leading position in terms of delivery reliability. The introduction of the software is a fundamental investment into our future.” Based on sales forecasts ORion-PI® Replenishment Optimization makes sure that frequently ordered articles are already restocked one day in advance. Furthermore, the software allows the prioritization of replenishment orders. Articles that are waited for in the picking area can be provided preferentially from the high rack warehouse. This way, Sigloch relieves replenishment processes during the day and frees up capacities for future planning tasks. A balanced and efficient staff deployment, moreover, increases the over-all productivity. Reason for the assignment of Axxom was an ever growing internal material flow in the distribution center Blaufelden. A first potentials analysis by Axxom Software revealed optimization potential regarding the design of internal replenishment processes. With the introduction of ORion-PI® Replenishment Optimization Sigloch then began to realize the identified potential in operative day-to-day business. Profile Sigloch Distribution GmbH & Co.
