07.02.06 - Intelligent material flow Axxom Software AG at the 15th German Material Flow Congress

Munich, February 9th 2006 – Munich based Axxom Software AG, provider of the optimization software ORion-PI® , will again demonstrate at this year’s 15th German Material Flow Congress in Garching/Munich how the flow of material can be intelligently planned and optimized. That the efficiency of internal logistic processes can be deliberately improved without investing in new hardware is also underlined in a speech held by Dr. Christoph Plapp, CEO of Axxom Software, in the context of the congress.

Intelligent algorithms and methods are at the base of all of Axxom’s optimization portfolio for the logistics sector. For only these enable the realistic planning and improvement of internal as well as network-wide processes. As specialist for the optimization of intralogistics and logistic networks Axxom invites visitors of the congress to take a closer look at the possibilities involved in process optimization and at its economical potential.

Demos will include operative scenarios such as pick process and consignment optimization, material flow simulations as well as pick trend calculations or prognoses. Other applications comprise topics such as replenishment optimization or efficient workforce management. The relevance of powerful algorithms for optimization scenarios is presented on the basis of strategic planning scenarios such as the optimization of distribution networks. Depending on the particluar corporate objective each solution approach can achieve a better workload balance on the given logistics system, an optimization of replenishment costs, reduced through-put times and stocks and/or an improvement in the efficiency of the entire logistics processes.

Requirements, application and benefits of intelligent algorithms in logistics are also in the focus of a speech held by Dr. Christoph Plapp, CEO of Axxom Software AG, on Thursday, March 2nd at 03:45 p.m. in a congress series called „Efficient business management“.
