09.12.08 - Axxom to be at the LogiMATInnovations at LogiMAT
With intelligent logistics against the financial crisisAt LogiMAT, Axxom presents innovations that enable a short-term supply chain and logistics optimizationMunich, 9th of December 2008 – Against the background of the financial and economical crisis, Axxom Software AG presents numerous new solutions for short-term supply chain and logistics optimization at LogiMAT. From 3rd to 5th of March 2009, Axxom shows innovations for intralogistics optimization, workforce management and network optimization at the trade fair in Stuttgart (hall 5, booth 410). The solutions help companies improving their cash flow at low investments within a short time. For the first time Axxom presents an extension of its solution ORion-PI® Value Network Optimization at LogiMAT. With that software solution, integrated location, distribution and transport fleet planning can be accomplished. By this, logistics costs can be reduced by seven up to 39 percent. Based on information concerning orders, customer locations, sea, air and road transport and deployed truck fleet, companies can for instance answer following questions by using the software: At optimal costs, how many logistics centers are necessary for my supply chain? Where are their optimal locations and what do optimal sourcing and delivery routes look like? Which truck type should be used for which distribution route and which customer should be served by which trucks? And how do costs change with different delivery frequencies? Furthermore, the carbon footprint and CO2-Emissions of distribution networks can be analyzed. Another novelty at LogiMAT will be a new release of Axxom`s software ORion-PI® Shipping. With that solution, companies are able to model their warehouse in a graphical layout. In connection with an evaluation of each process step with time components, e.g. MTM-times, it is possible to precisely calculate and optimize operating costs. For example, when articles in the picking area are relocated, ORion-PI® automatically calculates new time and cost efforts on basis of new distances in combination with MTM-time components. In conjunction with order volume forecasts, an exact production planning can be accomplished in the warehouse. Bottlenecks in particular areas can be exactly forecasted and appropriate counteractions identified – like reallocation of loads to different picking stations. Furthermore, production planning data is the basis for an optimal workforce management with Axxom`s solution ORion-PI® Workforce@Logistics.
