Axxom at LogiMAT 2008 in Stuttgart, Germany

Munich, 28^th November 2007 – From February 19^th to 21^st 2008 Axxom Software AG presents at LogiMAT 2008 in Stuttgart, Germany, new functionalities of its software ORion-PI^® for the planning, simulation and optimization of logistics processes and systems. Central focus of the exhibition in hall 6 / booth 304 of Stuttgart’s new fairgrounds lies on the optimization of logistics networks, distribution centers, inventories and capacities as well as on the demand-oriented planning of one’s workforce. Moreover, Axxom introduces its new industry-specific solution packages.

Within the accompanying trade forums Christian Kastl, COO of Axxom Software AG, and Dr. Uwe Rettig, Head of Product Management & Development, hold presentations on software requirements in the fields of personnel planning as well as the optimization of logistics systems.

On-site logistics optimization
With respect to on-site logistics optimization Axxom presents its over-all solution portfolio for the planning and optimization of operative logistics processes: from storage and replenishment strategy over the planning of order sequences and express lines up to the optimization of packages. Real life examples illustrate possible application scenarios, potential and implementation of the software.

Personnel and production planning in logistics
The efficient assignment of staff is a challenge and – at the same time – a big chance for the evolvement of the labor-intensive logistics industry. It requires a smart planning that balances available and needed staff – within the company specific framework of restrictions. At LogiMAT Axxom Software AG will showcase a special solution for the workforce and production planning in logistics. Demo scenarios of ORion-PI^®Worforce@Logistics demonstrate an optimal staff planning in short- and long-term planning horizons, based on calculated demands such as order or number of cartons.

Multi-site production and logistics networks Another focus of the exhibition lies on the design, optimization and dynamic allocation of capacities and inventories in logistics networks. ORion-PI^® Value Network Optimization not only allows the integrated planning and dynamic optimization of logistics networks, it yields – among others – reduced storage and transport costs as well as an improved delivery service. Axxom’s exhibition at LogiMAT is accompanied by two presentations. Dr. Uwe Rettig, Head of Product Management & Development, will give a speech on concepts for the sustainable optimization of production and logistics systems on Tuesday, February 19^th in forum III / hall 8. On the following day Christian Kastl, COO of Axxom Software AG, will inform in forum II / hall 6 on the potential of an intelligent logistics production planning for an efficient workforce management.
