18.12.06 - Intelligent planning works end-to-end – Axxom Software AG at LogiMAT 2007 in Stuttgart, Germany
Munich, 18th December 2006 - From February 13th to 15th 2007 Axxom Software AG presents new functionalities of its software suite ORion-PI® at LogiMAT 2007 in Stuttgart, Germany. With its presence at the "5th International Trade Fair for Distribution, Materials Handling and Information Flow" the technology company highlights the potentials of an efficient logistics management on all planning levels. Central focus of its exhibition in hall 5.0 / booth 323 at Messe Stuttgart International lies on new developments in the fields of intra-logistics optimization, demand-oriented workforce management as well as the design of end-to-end production and logistics networks. Within the accompanying trade forums Gabriel Werner, Manager Key Accounts, will hold a presentation on the challenges and potentials of an elaborate stock optimization.
"Intelligent planning and optimization efforts are already today key to success in production and logistics. But there's so much more potential which can only be tapped by an integrated approach" says Dr. Christoph Plapp, CEO of Axxom Software AG. "LogiMAT 2007 is the perfect platform to demonstrate how we help our customers to gain competitive edge through a sophisticated optimization software. No matter if one wants to avoid delivery bottlenecks, to decrease idle times or to reduce the entire planning expense within the network." At LogiMAT 2007 Axxom will showcase solutions for every planning horizon, from intra-logistics all the way to an integrated supply chain optimization.
Intra-logistics optimization Axxom's solution portfolio on the operative level addresses potentials that lie within intra-logistics. Demo scenarios shown at LogiMAT comprise approaches to pick process, sequence and batch optimization, material flow and replenishment optimization, pick trend, stock optimization and many more. Focal point of the intra-logistics portfolio will lie on the so-called "potential analysis" which lets companies compare the as-is state of their logistics processes with the optimal to-be state.
Demand oriented workforce management The flexible balancing of staff requirements and available capacities plays a key role in every company's efficiency check. To also meet strategic solution scenarios ORion-PI® Demand Oriented Workforce Management thus has recently been enhanced. Apart from the balancing of capacity shortages and the capacity-oriented shifting of personnel on the operative level it now also provides functionalities that address long-term decisions such as e.g. an anticipatory vacation planning.
End-to-end optimization in logistics and production The integrated planning of supply chain processes is becoming a more and more prominent issue in production and logistics. ORion-PI® Value Network Optimization 2.0 supports the strategic design and optimization of corporate networks by e.g. identifying optimal storage sites, transportation scenarios, optimal distribution strategies or merely major cost drivers. Demo scenarios shown at LogiMAT will illustrate how ORion-PI® supports high-level decision making: the in-depth comparison of different business scenarios will demonstrate the impact of single process variables on the entire value chain.
The challenges and potentials of modern stock management are presented within the accompanying trade forum by Gabriel Werner, Manager Key Accounts at Axxom Germany. His presentation "What, where, when? - Demand-oriented stock allocation" will take place on Thursday, February 15th in forum I, hall 4.0.
