13.06.06 Brückner and Axxom agree on strategic partnershipIntegrated solution for the plastics film industryMunich, June 13th 2006 - German Brückner Maschinenbau GmbH and Axxom Software AG have agreed on a strategic partnership at the end of March. Focus of the cooperation is the integration of Brückner's solution for the production of plastics films with the planning and optimization portfolio of technology provider Axxom. Brückner Maschinenbau GmbH is one of the leading providers of manufacturing facilities for the production of foils and films. Next to the planning, construction and commissioning of turnkey facilities and entire plants the portfolio comprises procedural and engineering developments for the foil production as well as corresponding services. The cooperation with Axxom Software AG, provider of the optimization software ORion-PI®, enhances Brückner's Manufacturing Management System (MMS) with intelligent planning functionalities. "The new solution offers the plastics film industry in the future an appreciably increase of efficiency across the entire production process," stresses Werner Kröter, Manager Automation, Brückner Maschinenbau GmbH. "By integrating our technologies with the optimizing techniques of Axxom Software AG our customers can, for the first time, realize a holistic optimization of their production planning." The consolidation of the MMS with the APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) system enables the comprehensive and integrative optimization of production planning and foil cutting plans, always with regard to the objectives of the entire supply chain. Users will not only minimize production costs but also reduce inventories at a simultaneous increase of delivery services. Brückner has opted for the planning and optimization software of technology provider Axxom on the basis of a thorough market research and a detailed specification sheet which described the essential requirements of the plastics film industry. The solution is planned to be applied both, in the fields of detailed scheduling as well as in strategic scenarios as they occur in inventory planning.
