13.04.06 - Strategic, tactical or operative: We optimize - for your success - Axxom at ACHEMA 2006

Munich, April 13th 2006 - "We optimize - for your success", is the motto with which Munich based Axxom Software AG showcases its optimization portfolio at this year's ACHEMA in Frankfurt/Germany. From May 15th to 19th the technology company demonstrates in hall 9.2, booth K37 on the exhibition grounds of Messe Frank-furt how much unforeseen potential still lies in production and logistics - be it on an operative, tactical or strategic level. Five days in a row Axxom will introduce those interested to innovative and realistic planning scenarios: from an integrated optimization of the entire company network, to saving potentials on the operative level, as well as the development of mid-term planning strategies. Presentations by CEO, Dr. Christoph Plapp, and Project Manager Key Accounts, Dr. Dagmar Ludewig, in the accompanying congress program top off Axxom's exhibition program.

"'We optimize - for your success' not only describes the central idea of our software - for optimization means improvement and ultimately success. As a motto it absolutely can and should be understood on a business level, too", says Dr. Christoph Plapp, CEO of Axxom Software AG, about the idea behind the slogan with which Axxom will address customers at ACHEMA 2006. "Companies which place emphasis on fore-sighted planning and the integrated optimization of production processes will eventu-ally draw profit from it - in terms of productivity as well as financially."

How ORion-PI® helps to achieve an increase in efficiency - be it on a strategic, tactical or operative level - will be demonstrated via different planning and optimization approaches:

Optimization of logistics, distribution and production networks
This demo point shows a new and unique technological approach which enables a transparent and success-oriented end-to-end supply chain optimization. Based on exceptionally powerful algorithms ORion-PI® now allows the integrated planning and optimization of logistics, distribution and production networks, in fact end-to-end, from suppliers to production and distribution and all the way to the customer. The demo point showcases topics such as material flow optimization, optimal product allocation, transport optimization as well as an efficient supply chain design.

Strategic Optimization
Demos to this approach visualize how the simulation of so-called what-if scenarios can offer the producing industry remarkable support in strategic decision-making. ORion-PI® compares possible business scenarios in order to minimize corporate target conflicts. Strategic optimization stands for a comprehensive planning approach across all business levels, from operative to tactical and strategic planning scenarios. Focus at this demo point lies on the potentials of inventory optimization, TSC (Target Stock Calculation) or optimal warehouse planning.

APS for detailed, middle-term and rough cut planning
The benefits of an "APS (Advanced Planning & Scheduling) system for detailed, mid-dle-term and rough cut planning" are stressed at Axxom's third focus area. Business objectives here center an increase of transparency and planning quality as well as a reduction of planning efforts on the tactical and operational level. Profit can be drawn from intelligent planning approaches such as ATP (Available To Promise), VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), demand planning, forecasting, recipe optimization / BOM as well as capacity planning and optimization.

Demand-oriented workforce management
Last but not least, Axxom introduces the potentials of a demand-oriented workforce management at ACHEMA 2006. Emphasis is i.a. placed on the following questions: How can personnel capacities and demand be balanced without causing idle times or bottlenecks within the production? And even more so: How can one concurrently guarantee an optimal order processing?

In addition to the demo-points in hall 9.2/booth K37 visitors to the fair are invited to attend Axxom's presentations at the fair's Congress Center (CMF). On Wednesday, May 17th at 2:30 p.m., Dr. Dagmar Ludewig, Project Manager Key Accounts, will stress the increasing importance of a fore-sighted and efficient workforce manage-ment in the chemical production in room 'Illusion 2'. Dr. Christoph Plapp, CEO of Axxom Software AG, will present a new approach to integrated supply chain planning at the ‚Substanz Forum' on Friday, May 19th at 11:00 a.m.
